Episode Title: The Daily Thank You
“Thank you” is one of the simplest things you can say—but it’s foundational to a culture where people feel valued every day. Here’s why, next on The Perna Syndicate.
Ep 685 show:
Welcome to The Perna Syndicate! This week we’ve been covering the topic of employee appreciation and how it needs to be observed every day, not just on the official holiday.
Taking the time to forge a human connection with your team is the first step. Supporting their healthy work-life boundaries makes them feel valued for who they are, not just for their work. And giving them the ability to make a positive difference can be incredibly meaningful.
Of course, a true sense of being appreciated comes from the overarching company culture. And that starts with expressing gratitude every single day. The goal is to make appreciation a part of the fabric of the organization—a built-in and genuine norm that is never just a one-time experience.
This doesn’t have to be complicated. Just say “thank you”—and mean it. Make gratitude a part of every interaction with your team, even when it’s for something that seems small.
Never underestimate the power of “thank you.” Employees who feel appreciated on a daily basis will contribute their best work toward the mission of the organization.
They will stay where they feel valued and connected, and they will recommend their workplace to others. This has never been truer than in our current employment landscape.
