Episode Title: Remote Work Is a State of Mind

When the pandemic hit, it forced all of us to rethink the way we worked together. Let’s talk about this huge cultural shift, next on The Perna Syndicate.

Ep 716 show:

This is The Perna Syndicate and I’m your host, Mark Perna. Thanks for tuning in! For the next 2 weeks, we’re going to be talking about remote work in the post-pandemic world. Companies have embraced this model because workers have demanded the flexibility it brings.

Whether you like it or not, working remotely is here to stay.

Even though we’ve largely settled into this new way of working, there’s still a problem that organizations might be overlooking. Simply put, the old way of office management does not directly translate into the virtual office. To be an effective manager, you really need to have a remote work state of mind.

Sure, basic project management skills are important, but they are supersized when combined with people skills. Building a positive relationship with your remote team is the secret to building their passion for the contribution they make.

Though remote work is now the norm for many, we’ve got to remember it’s still pretty new. And it requires a new approach, different from the old office model we’ve been used to.

Remote work needs to be more than just a logistical solution. It needs to be a state of mind that everyone can embrace.

When you think of remote work, is it a positive or negative topic? Let’s dispute some myths about working from home tomorrow on The Perna Syndicate! I’ll catch you then.
