635- Engagement is the Name of the Game
Episode Title: Engagement is the Name of the Game
In 2023, keeping employees engaged is the name of the game. We’ll cover two more ways to do that, next on The Perna Syndicate.
Ep 635 show:
It’s a new day on The Perna Syndicate! What’s your organization doing to attract—and more importantly, retain—the talented people that keep it going?
New data from The Workforce Institute at UKG indicates that a lot of people are fed up with their work. Almost two-thirds would switch jobs right now if they could. They’re just looking for a way to make it happen.
I chatted with workforce leader Chris Mullen about these findings, along with six strategies companies need to implement right now to engage their workforce. If you missed the first four this week, you can replay those episodes. Today, we’re covering the last two. And they’re vital.
More than ever, leaders must give employees the opportunity to grow through learning and career development. Empowering people to set professional development goals can foster a sense of growth and hope in their career. It’s something to work toward that will not only benefit themselves, but also the organization.
Finally, be sure people have time off to disconnect and recharge. Some 85% of employees do not use all of their allotted time off, and this can be a big factor in burnout. It’s so important for all of us to unplug from work to beat stress and stay well.
This can be a great year for your company, but it won’t happen on its own. Keeping people engaged at work is the name of the game in 2023.
Thanks for being part of The Perna Syndicate this week, and thanks to everyone who has left a review. It’s a great way you can help us shift the paradigm in education, employment, and economic development. We’ll see you back here next week…take care!
