Welcome to The Perna Syndicate! I like to joke that it’s taken me 32 years to become an overnight success. The point, of course, is that there is no such thing as an overnight success. 

That’s certainly the case for the teen entrepreneur we’re covering this week, Destiny Snow. Even though her company has earned more than a million dollars within just two years, it wasn’t easy. 

Early on, Destiny was discouraged at how slow business was…just 10 to 20 sales a month. It was going nowhere fast, and she needed to rethink her entire business model.  So she started watching countless marketing videos, reading business articles and ordering piles of business books. With all the material she read, Destiny says her house looked like a library.

She began to realize that friends and family were not her target audience. To truly scale her company, Destiny had to win the hearts and minds of total strangers. So she doubled down on her research to master this skill. 

And it all paid off. She gained the knowledge she needed to reach the right audience, and the rest is history. The way Destiny shifted her approach highlights one of her generation’s biggest strengths. They know the answer they need is out there. And they believe in their own ability to not just find it, but also to apply what they learn. 

Apparently, overnight success only comes when you’re willing to put in the work first.
